Race Background

Firecracker GuyThe Schoolcraft Firecracker 5 Miler has been the "kickoff" event for the Schoolcraft's Annual 4th of July Celebration for many years. Our mission is to provide a family oriented event that promotes fun, wellness, and fitness. The Firecracker 5 Miler benefits the entire community of Schoolcraft as well as the surrounding areas! This is a non-profit event and proceeds will be donated to Schoolcraft Eagles Cross-country/Track Programs as well as the Schoolcraft 4th of July committee. We encourage you to come out and join us as we strive to make this a holiday tradition that you won't want to miss.

We look forward to seeing you on July 4th at the SCHOOLCRAFT HIGH SCHOOL. Feel free to join us after the race for many events around town to help celebrate the 4th including: pancake breakfast (runners show bibs and will receive a discount), parade, helicopter and fire truck rides, car show, tours to the historical underground Railway…and don't forget the fireworks at dusk!

There are two events:

1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (7:30 am)

This is a FREE, fun, non-competitive run/walk for people of all ages. Finishers will receive a participation ribbon

5 Mile Race (8:00 am)

This race is known for its unique 5 mile distance as well as its FAST and FLAT course. It will have 2 aid stations and be timed by Great lakes Championchip for quick and accurate results. You will receive your chip on the morning of race day (between 6:30 and 7:30am) when you pick up your race packet. NO CHIP, NO TIME!

Pre-registered runners will be guaranteed a performance wicking, sweat-free shirt "Schoolcraft Firecracker 5-miler" training shirt this year, SO register early! (A limited number of shirts will be available for day of race registrants – these will be available on a first come, first served basis.)

We look forward to seeing you on July 4th at Schoolcraft High School!  Feel free to join us after the race for many events around town to help celebrate the 4th including: pancake breakfast, parade, helicopter and fire truck rides, car show and tours to the historical underground railway.
